Estyn welcomes new Chief Inspector

Meilyr Rowlands has taken up the role of Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education and Training in Wales.
From 1 June he is responsible for leading the inspectorate and overseeing nearly 400 inspections a year, advising the Minister for Education and Skills and supporting the drive for improvement in education.

Meilyr says, “I am delighted and proud to become Estyn’s new Chief Inspector. I look forward to building on the strengths of our inspection system and working with teachers, senior leaders, parents and learners.”
