Tracking system helps pupils to achieve targets

Pupils at St John’s College make clear progression throughout the year, thanks to a refined tracking system. The aim of the tracking system is to support and challenge pupils to achieve their best. Targets are set termly, which helps to encourage independent learning and self-reflection. Form tutors discuss the targets with the pupils and make SMART targets for improvement for the next term. Ysgol Esgob Morgan has a pupil centred-approach to additional learning needs. Staff track pupil progress in detail to identify learners who require additional support. An intervention package allows staff to see which pupils need to be added to, or removed from the intervention programme. This approach ensures that all staff are empowered to support pupils who have additional learning needs.
